Project Overview

Background & Purpose:

Behavior develops from a variety of factors interacting across domains and time scales. To capture the richness of behavioral development and to understand its complexity, most developmental scientists record behavior on video. However, researchers rarely share video data, and this has slowed progress, impeded understanding, and diminished the impact of public investments in behavioral science. The Databrary project's mission is to deepen insights by creating the infrastructure to enable open data sharing in behavioral science.

Setting:

Databrary is an interdisciplinary, multi-locational effort with collaborators from New York University in New York, NY and Penn State University in University Park, PA, with primary development staff being located in New York. Board and contributor meetings are held at various additional localities including Seattle, WA and via internet conferencing.
