Project Overview
Background & Purpose: 

This project seeks to advance understandings of science teacher professional knowledge by bringing clarity to the PCK construct, the model of professional knowledge in which it is embedded, and its implications for enhancing teacher practice and student learning. The PCK Summit will draw on the expertise of international research teams in science and mathematics to describe past research efforts and develop a synthesis of research that will culminate in products distributed electronically and in print formats to inform researchers in the field of teacher professional knowledge.

Research Design: 

This project will generate evidence that is synthetic [meta-analysis]. We are in the process of determining the appropriate sampling and synthesis design for examining the relevant literature. After we have chosen the process, we will update our analysis plan.

Findings: 

Findings will be posted as they become available.

Other Products: 

This project includes instrument development and refinement; synthesis of research findings; and identification of lines of research.
